Aims...

THE AIMS and Statement of Purpose of the T.C.A.

(I) to promote the science and art of Arboriculture, ie - the planting , cultivation , management and utilization of amenity trees, woodlands and urban forests .

(2) to foster public interest in the care and appreciation of trees and shrubs.

(3) to improve the standard of practice towards professional arboriculture,

(4) to assist in the education and training of arboriculture.

(5) to recommend and uphold a professional Code of Ethics by those practicing arboriculture.

(6) to support research in arboriculture.

Solely for the purpose of furthenng the aims Set Out above the Association shall have the power -

(a) to subscribe to become a member of and co-operate with any other Association , club or organization whether incorporated or not , whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the T.C.A , provided that the Association shall not subscribe to support with its funds any club, association or organization which does not prohibit the distribution of its income and property among its members to an extent at least as great as that imposed on the Association under or by the rules.

(b) to enter into any arrangement with any Government or Authority which is incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects and the exercise of the powers of the T.C.A. , to obtain from any such Government or Authority any rights, privileges and concessions which the T.C.A. may think it desirable to obtain, and to carry out, exercise and comply with any such arrangements, rights, privileges and concessions.

(c) to appoint, employ, remove or suspend such managers, clerks, secretaries, servants, workmen and other persons as may be necessary or convenient for compliance with the aims of the T.C.A.

(d) to invest and deal with the funds of the T.C.A. , not immediately required , in such manner as may from time to time be thought fit.

(e) to take such steps by personal or written appeals, public meetings or otherwise as may from time to time be deemed exedient for the purpose of procuring contributions to the funds of the T.C.A. in the shape of donations, annual subscriptions or otherwise.

(f) to print and publish any newspaper , periodical , book or leaflet which the T.C.A. may think desirable for the promotion of its aims.

(g) to make donations to patriotic, charitable or community purposes.

(h) to do all such other things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of the objects and the exercise of the powers of the TCA.
